I hunted for years with my SKB 20 gauge with a Burris 3x LER scope mounted on the slug barrel "scout style". I killed a truckload of deer with it and still hunt with it occasionally. For hunting deep woods around cedar thickets and clear cuts, it had more than enough magnification. I have been considering building a .308 scout to deer hunt with, but I have 2 rifles set up for deer now, so no real need. I have always liked scout rifles though.

    Truckload of deer?

    Hmmmmm
S10 shorty with one bruiser buck?
Full size longbed with a few deer?
Or tractor-trailer(s) piled high w cervids?

    ;)

Looking back through my records, it stands at 4 bucks and a doe for that particular shotgun. So, it would probably be full sized truck with a short bed, long bed if you had them hanging overnight. :ar15:
