NEIN!!! How dare the Americans come up with a FREE design fix!!!! We are HK. We DO NOT DO FREE!! We must change the bolts to metric, then HK will be on top again because it will make it a superior design.

Junior Defence Minister Katrin Suder decided to spend €18 million on 600 new rifles and 600 new machine guns for frontline soldiers to replace some of the defective weapons, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported on Friday.

1,200 new guns for €18 million (Euros I think). HK is really raking in the cash.

Prior to the introduction of the G36, Germany had some excellent rifles. Why not simply return to those, at least as in interim solution until what they really want becomes available in an acceptable form?

They surplussed most of that stuff to us. That was the reason the market used to be flooded with $1 G3 mags and other assorted items from those rifles, Including the ammo.
PTR got the surplus furniture and the tooling.

I am wondering if the HK417 isn't a misprint. The HK417 is allready in use by the Germans as a 7.62 DMR rfile as the G28

I would think they meant the HK416. Which is called the G38. Only some spec ops folks in Germany have the G38

In Germany the flap over the GayDrySex (parts deforming under use) grows.

HundK releases not one, but three press releases. Pressure is on to adopt new weapon. And you thought only your service weapon sucked.

The G36 Controversy Intensifies - The Firearm Blog
In the recent spirit of bumping old funny posts.
I bump the Kirk Freeman Gay Dry Sex thread.

    And to provide relevant info.
They selected a C.G. Haenel rifle that was a complete H&K patent infringement.
    H&K sues.
Result is, Germans buy another H&K, This time the H&K 416.

This is now the G95A1 and the G95KA1

Kirk Freeman can now come and translate the new rifle name into phonetic German...
