There have been a significant number of posts discussing the Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and their "opposing" views of the Second Amendment. I think Obama and Romney both present serious threats to our gun rights Obama, of course, in all, is the bigger threat. However, Romney is a man who lacks principles and is more than willing to compromise out right to bear arms. The song and dance that he has done regarding his support for gun rights is irrelevant. Personally, I have to look at the facts and the records. Romney does not have a good track record with guns.

While I would rather see Romney in the White House than Obama, I am simply tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. I don't associate myself with evil, and I certainly don't want evil as the chief executive of my country. That's why I'm taking a personal stand and voting for Gary Johnson. Voting is a personal choice, and at this point, most people have made their decisions for November 6th.

I'm a realist; I know that Gary Johnson will not be elected on Tuesday. However, for argument's sake, let's just pretend that he will. If that happened, I am extremely confident that all of our rights (Second Amendment Included) would be protected. Third party candidates do not have a fleeting chance of being elected in the United States because its people do not have the courage to divorce themselves from the status quo. I fully believe that breaking from our dependence on the two-party system would give us a new beginning in this country.

I have attached some videos which discuss Gary Johnson's views, particularly on the Second Amendment.

All said and done, is Johnson really the candidate the 'not Obama nor Romney' crowd want, or is he simply the 'least of three evils'?

Isn't there anybody else you would really rather have, such that even voting for Johnson is compromising your beliefs? :dunno:

Gary Johnson is a convenient protest vote. A message to the RNC that some still exist in this country that do not suckle at the teat of the Golden Elephant.

Ron Paul was the no compromise candidate. He is out of the running for 2012.

We are left with nothing but compromise and the lesser of the available evil.

    Vote the way you must.

But remember, you are essentially voting for Obama.

I can't have that on my conscience.

This has been beat to death. Bottom line is a vote for anyone other than Romney is a vote for Obama. If you think any other vote is a protest vote you are having about as much effect towards a protest as a fart in the wind. If you want to make a difference then understand. You have to fix this corrupt government from the bottom up, not the top down.

Like so many others I think Romney flat out sucks. But he is much better than another socialist rule by Obama.

Nope. You're supposed to be an adult. Educate yourself.

Well, I made a statement based on my perceptions of the facts. If you feel my perceptions are incorrect, then, perhaps, you can enlighten me.

If you think I am a Romneybot, well, you are mistaken, greatly.

Am I voting for the lesser of two evils, yep. The reason, I am a realist.

A vote for Romney is essentially still a vote for Romney

    I agree with ATM.
We will never have a candidate that we want if we always "just settle."

I am of the belief, that since the reality is a two party system, you can only make great changes by infiltrating one of the parties.

Waiting for an election to voice your protest, seems a bit late under our current system.

This is the hand we were dealt, play it accordingly.

No, but you're definitely gonna get 4 more yrs of "HOPE" if enough people throw out a protest vote like you're talking about. I "HOPE" you're alright with that and the assault weapons ban Obummer would like to enact.:dunno:

So, voting for Johnson now gives control of congress to Obama now as well?

If a person is undecided and they don't like either of the top two but lean more toward Obama then a vote for Johnson is in fact not a vote for Obama...

I don't think most people even know the stances of Obama, Johnson, or Romney. I was in a meeting today and a few of the people didn't even know who Gary Johnson was. I just tell people to go to iSideWith.com and figure which candidate has similar stances.
We don't need to educate people about 1 vote for Johnson = 1 vote for Johnson or whatever. We need people to realize that the power is with the people. All they have to do is be heard and support someone who will lead them. I don't think a choice for the lesser of two evils is a choice at all.
