How often do incumbents face a primary adversary? The system doesn't favor a wide open primary system against an incumbent. How many choices were on the primary ballot for governor?

If you expect to see someones name who you like to magically appear on the primary ballot with zero involvement on your part you're probably doing it wrong. If you are not involved until the opportunity to vote arrives you really have no place pissing on the choices you've been left with.

Curtis Hill had my vote. Who forced off the two challengers? People who control the party.

Agreed. I’m amazed at how well the democrats manage to stick together and vote as a block when things are on the line, but Republicans don’t seem to understand what’s at stake and feel like “taking a stand” or “making a point” is preferable to actually winning, and winning overwhelming if you can. Our friend here has aspirations of threading the needle and sending a message, as though that’ll show him. Obviously the left doesn’t have a monopoly on fuzzy thinking.

The problem is a lot of republicans can't see the forest because they are standing in front of the tree with their nose on it. All while Democrats are chopping said forest down all around promoting their agenda.

As I said before, the primary is where this needs to be addressed and decided, not the gubenorial race. As long as we have a republican Governor, even if the Indiana House and senate swing democrat the
likelihood of a Anti 2nd bill passing after a veto will be slim to none.

If people want to be a activist for a more conservative governor, then find one, pimp and promote him to the max for the next governor race.

People, I have one thing to say about polling saying Holcomb is up double digit points..... Trump 2016, polls don't mean :poop: because most people will not tell the truth.

The results that matter is when the vote is cast.

It's all pixie dust and Unicorn farts until the election is over and if you think Holcomb is a shoe in, then people, you didn't pay attention to what I said about 2016.

That would be stellar. But if said gathering goes full contact only Nerf gloves and bats allowed OK.

I think you know that with me there's no need for even Nerf gloves or Nerf bats. Only requirement is to keep the hands and fingers away from my cheeseburger while I'm chopping on it!

OR you could send a message by voting third party (assuming youre not completely turned off by the libertariam candidate). In the end the only way to see really change is to pressure Republicans, you can do that by voting Dem, or by voting Libertarian.

Since he can't run for Governor in the next cycle, I'm not sure he gives a crap about your message anyway.

Before anyome lectures me on a Libertarian vote being a vote for Dems, save it. If everyong that has told me that over the years actually voted Libertarian, we would have seen a third party president by now.

    @GMediC

since he won't care about my message.....since he'll have his 4 yrs.

I have decided to PRIMARY HIM OUT NOW.....

A "blank bubble" vote next to gov. slot

because Republican leaders did not allow voters a primary.

so vote for the Other Republican on

Nov. 3rd ballot...to which there is none.

that will let the Party know what I think.

sorry, I do not support dems or thirds.

vote early & leave gov. slot blank....
we'll have our own primary....so to speak
    good luck

Well if the Libertarian party would put up a real candidate maybe it’s an option so far no. Empty party.

Edit....Have no idea where the Gypsy thing came from. Darn phone.

No doubt. I think a Woman is perfectly capable of being President, but bringing a white woman to the table? It's like they enjoy losing.

Maybe they're just hoarding donor money for an all or nothing run in a few election cycles.

    my math is OK:patriot:

it's all about margins & optics pal

    holcom is ahead by 15pts....

as he reads the indystar? and smiles.

    Nov. 3rd...
Trump will carry Ind. by 30pts+ approx.
    not really critical...exact math...yep

On Nov. 3rd ... my hope is that
holcomb wins by somewhere around one single vote.....

    his own.....exact math.....

that's my message gettin thru to eric the great on election day...

please vote "blank bubble" for governor....

    unless he resigns before then...

eric & everyone will see the message on Nov. 3rd:)

I just don't get what 'message' you think you will be sending. If Holcomb wins in November, he's term limited anyway, so he doesn't care how close his margin is in 2020 because he's not running in 2024 (at least not for governor)

So there is no 'message', no upside to leaving a blank vote for governor. Should the race turn out to be closer than thought, though, there is most certainly a downside in taking a chance on getting stuck with a Dem governor

What I hear in this thread is

OMG! YOU DON'T THINK THE WAY I THINK YOU SHOULD THINK! :runaway:

C'mon. People get to vote however they want, or even at all or not. That's none of your business. However, it's fair to discuss and try to persuade. But don't get upset about it when people disagree with you. You have YOUR own vote. You're not entitled to other people's votes too. If libertarians want to vote for Libertarians, don't complain that they didn't agree with you to vote for the Republican.
