The son in law and I went to WS this morning for just some plinking around. After we got there a family showed up in the lane next to us. It was a dad and mom, two early teen boys and a young girl (age eight, I asked).
I offered to let the young one shoot my lightweight SAA .22 revolver. I normally don't carry .22 shorts but I had a whole box of them with me then. I think a BB gun kicks more than the revolver with the shorts.
Dad had her shooting it and the look on her face was priceless. AFter a few rounds she was doing everything by herself (with him very close by, of course.) I think we have a new shooter who has learned just how much fun it it.
And mom liked the .22 with the shorts better than the .38 she was shooting.
