I was considering a GSG 1911 as a suppressor host, but I am reconsidering if you had failures after 250 rounds with factory parts. Was it just your gun, or have you heard of this being a common problem with the GSG's? Thanks in advance.
I use a GSG 1911 as a host. I would say it is an alright host, but in all honesty my Walther P22 makes a better host. I dont know exactly why buy it just suppresses a little more and seems to be a bit more reliable. Im not at all saying the GSG isnt reliable though, Ive only had one or two issues with the can on and thats not really bad at all for .22. There's a pretty good chance most of us here will probably not rely on these pistols to save our lives, so a couple failures, IMO is perfectly acceptable at the price point of the pistol.

Interesting read and links. I just traded for a Sig 1911 22 and am impressed with the quality and feel of the gun. I think I might order the guide rod and alignment cone. :yesway:
