What are the statistics on the types of guns used in crimes? I would think most guns used in crimes would be pea shooters or cheap modified guns or even fake toy guns. Its obvious Obama ONLY wants to have total control. Just like with drugs once you put stiff bans on guns the demand will go up and there will be new "dealers" pushing guns and more crimes related due to the ban of the type of gun. I think there should be stiffer laws on the illegal use of guns. Not just ban the type. What do u guys and gals think???? If I need an assult rifle to protect my home then its my right to do so. The way people are bursting in our homes Nowadays I will need a gun that will perform to handle a gang invading my home. Or even a micro managing government that decides to blast through my house because of our socialist style president. If Obama wants to ban assult guns then he needs to ban greasy hamburgers.

But Kirk, that's unpossible! You mean to tell me that those fully automatic evil black rifle death machines with 1000 round magazines aren't even in the top ten?

I cant believe they didnt make the cut either, unless its because the AWB was in full swing in 2000. JMHO though. Good catch though Hammerhead

I can believe that those scary black rifles didnt make the cut. Criminals want to hide their weapons. Most criminals cant conceal an AR or AK. Well maybe those super baggy pants they can. :dunno:

Wow, criminals have a major affinity towards buying American made guns.
No, they buy the cheapest of the cheap. In Hammond, a cop buddy of mine told me the top 10 of confiscated guns, the Glock is way last on the list and only listed because it came up only a handful of times. Hi Points and Davis handguns are most comment because they are cheap.

For some reason many people perceive common criminals to often utilize expensive, exotic weapons.

Maybe Hollywood is to blame for the misconception, but in the real world it does not play out that way.

In the real world desperate, often drug riddled common criminals most commonly utilize cheap, easily obtainable weapons that most of us gun enthusiasts would shrug at.

The pundits were busy today on MSNBC talking about legislative action to background check and create a Federal paper trail on ALL firearms transactions and ownership. They were very negative concerning Internet purchases of long guns and stated that needs to stop. Background checks should also include mental health background information on prospective gun purchasers. Good luck with that one! They did point out the recent AK that was used in the mall shooting was a stolen firearm but the shooter would have passed a backgruond check if he had purchased it himself.

    Where's the bacon?
    legislative action to background check
    Already done.
create a Federal paper trail on ALL firearms transactions and ownership
    Illegal under federal law.

So, MSNBC is advocating for things already in place and things illegal to do.

Nice to know that the Left is up on the subject.:D

Kirk, would not the public advocation by such an entity of a criminal (especially a felonious!) act constitute "conspiracy"?

Also, "internet purchases of long guns"? Is not this presently only available to holders of FFLs (including 01 and 03 types)?

    Blessings,
    Bill

No. It would just be speech, silly speech but speech none the less.

    Conspiracy requires:

    1. An agreement to commit a felony.

    2. A step in furtherance of the conspiracy by a member of the agreement.

All the more reason to be optimistic about the outcome of a gun fight when we train and maintain our weapons properly.

Even if you pick the top 10 guns used by criminals. They still should'nt be banned I saw a post that had Davis and Hi-point came up in Hammond. People who are good honest citizen that are poor need affordable protection also. Although they sure would'nt be my pick
