I just got my Garmin GPSMAP 62S. I like it alot so far, but the directions leave alot to be desired.... I'm trying to figure out how to download some topo maps to it.....

You need to buy the software for the topo maps if it doesn't come with it. It doesn't have to be mapsource but I don't have any other experience with anything else. If you get the software, I might be able to walk you through.

Ok I have a question. can you use a hand held GPS on water for marking fishing spots? I have never used one. Thanks for any information

Yup, works great on water, just dont drop it in

Yes you can use it on water. In fact, they make software specifically for it. I think it gives depths and obstructions and other things like that.
