A weakness of amplified hearing protection is that it is often difficult to determine the direction of the sounds vs hearing with your ears.

I have my electronic hearing protection and it does a great job at amplifying small noises. However, they are mono so I feel like the benefit wouldn't be as great.

What pair do you run? My Sordins broadcast sound directionally so I can hear things move.

I’m really surprised how casually people treat hearing loss around here. If the analogy held true for vision, say, one lost a little bit of the visual field every time they went without sunglasses, would they be so cavalier about it?

Running suppressed seems like such a no brainer. All this crap about wanting to wake up the neighbors and have a fire breathing dragon of a weapon seem like silly mall ninja talk to me.

If not for your own hearing, what about your family?
