ESPN has simply fallen victim to its own successes, like MTV. The "original" channels are filled with mostly fluff, and noteworthy sporting events... the other channels (i.e. ESPN2, Midwest, South Etc) are the ones that carry mostly sports now.

I remember when ESPN was the premier sports network. I thought they hit bottom 10 years ago when they started showing cheerleader dance competitions.
They're showing the cornhole championship right now.

Ernest Hemmingway once said, "There are only 4 true sports - Mountaineering, Bullfighting, Auto Racing and Cornhole." It's true, I swear to God it is. ;)

Well, considering that game requires physical exertion AND skill so yeah, it's a sport. Card and board games are tactics and skills.

Video gaming is a sport as it requires dexterity and speed (physical exertion) and skills.

Worse than the fact that it was televised is that those guys don't appear to be any better at it than I am!

I used to like the odd sports they would show during the day on weekdays. Austalian football, WTCC racing, and a bunch of others. The boring talk shows they started having were a real turn off.

I approve of the turn this thread has taken.

On a side note, I never realized that the cat juggler was also played by Steve Martin.

Whaaaaaaat?!? I missed that as well. All this time........

(As for the OT, I stopped watching ESPN when they turned political. Ya know the apologies for personal views, etc...)

I always like to watch the Stihl Timbersports shows when they're on.

And their sports science segments are cool too...
