Short answer: Not enough. Taurus 1911 (.45 ACP) and Kal Tec P11 (9mm), that's all I have now. Looking to get a Taurus Judge as my next gun. That should count as two more calibers.

You wont be disappointed in the judge. Its the second favorite of my guns. I think my nephew wants me to die cause i said he could have it then.

I have several calibers of handguns.

My rifles all work for a living and travel a lot and I have chosen calibers based on the following criteria: 1) suitability for game hunted, 2) availability of ammo on store shelves. I use ubiquitous calibers like the .308 Win., the .300 Win. Mag, the .30-06 Sprng. for my hunting rifles. I ask myself the question of what caliber ammo I would likely find in a "Crappy Tire" or Hudson Bay outpost store during a moose hunt in backwoods Canada if my ammo was forgotten or lost?

The answer certainly isn't .300 Rem Ultra Mag or 7mm-08. Not many trappers or Inuit hunters using these exotic calibers "North of 60" these days. You won't find much selection in these far out places other than .22LR, .30-30 Win., .308 Win., .30-06 Sprng., .303 BR, .300 Win. Mag.

So I own a couple of dozen rifles but only in 4 or 5 generic calibers.

Cheaper on reloading equipment and components to narrow your gun portfolio to a small number of the most common calibers.

I sold my .40 and I may sell my Mosin as as well.

    Why sell the Mosin?

    They're cheaper than dirt.

I got a new one still "in the grease" from the Polish arsenals for $160 and put a Timney trigger in it to replace the "fence-post" factory trigger that had 1/4" of creep.

It's a real good shooter now that I don't need a block & tackle to pull the trigger.
