They not only prefer one flavor to another, but they do not want you to be able to find your flavor at any store. They mock people who like your flavor. They want the recipe for your flavor erased from the public record. They want to make your children eat another flavor while you watch.

The difference between good and evil here is that the good will respect the limitations placed on government through our constitution. The evil will ignore it and effectively sign orders for dissidents to be arrested or murdered.

Why would you hope that? I don't hope for anyone to have their guns taken away, because it would mean that any of us could be next on the list.

The Dems I am friends with are not gun grabbing socialists. As for guns, most of them don't care, they just want safety. It is absolutely the Frankin-esque trading liberty for security. If banning guns resulted in a net increase of safety, they lose little but potentially gain greatly.

Coincidentally, their argument for casting gun owners as bad is nearly the mirror image of what is being used to paint them as evil. Simplistic rhetoric makes it easy to dehumanize opponents and motivate the base of a given constituency.
