My guess is that someone chiseled a hole in the block to run that wire through. Instead of patching it properly they just hid it with some pea gravel and dirt. Now some small rodent has dug through the loose stuff. Nothing that I know of is going to chew through block.

Oceans 11, Seven Seas Club, Papagayos, The Cherry Club, not to mention all the great bands playing in those clubs. Got to make a body recovery dive right below the bridge going over &%$# River between the base and Olangapo City. All just fond memories now that we turned the base back over to the Philippines.

We used to throw pesos off of that bridge and watch the kids dive and come up with them out of the river, Every time....... Monkey on a stick, station dito, san miguel and red horse.

Oh man...does that bring back some memories! I actually thought the 'chicken' on a stick was very good eatin'...after several San Miguels! I was in and out of that city many, many times over the course of a couple of years!

I call b.s. on rats chewing through concrete block. That hole is there from installing the hvac line. The rat(or whatever) just happened to find it and pull out the pea gravel from your crawl or from inside the block.

We lived in the Quonset huts right next to Jest training. I was there in 87 & 88 during several of the coup attempts to overthrow Aquino.

Mystery solved:

The block was chiseled out by the heating and air crew during the initial build. A ground squirrel found the hole, scooped out the gravel and proceeded to make a home there. Time to go Bill Murray on the little rascal

If you get a live trap for your chipmunks, put some 1/2" mesh wire over the trap too, or else they'll squeeze between the bars.

If you just want it dead, rat trap or mouse trap is what I'd go with.
