When I hear "The Duke" I think of John Wayne, when I just hear Duke, I think of this guy.

If a Duke basketball player falls down in a forest and there is no referee there to see it, is it still a charging foul?

    ...Duke University or John Wayne?

An Actor, A University And A Famous Name Lead To A Lawsuit : The Two-Way : NPR

The gist: The Wayne family wants to milk the nickname Duke by jumping in on the brown spirit craze and selling a Duke Bourbon (probably some low end swill); Duke U thinks they consumers will think of them instead of an actor that hasn't been in a movie in the last 35 years.

    ...and... fight!

I detest hearing stories about families that leech off of the works of they ancestors in the manner of European nobility. The (Martin Luther) King family is a prime example.

I assume that upon your death, you are going to leave your worldly wealth and any intellectual property rights you may have to a worthy charity or else release them into the public domain?

I will grant you that there are plenty of entitled brats coasting on family money without doing anything to earn their way in life, but it is a bit harsh to suggest that they should be deprived of what was left to them, unless of course you are a socialist, in which case I would understand your argument.
