you guys will think im crazy but the m44 mosin nagant of all the rifles i own or ever got to play with (with is alot) my m44 would be my first choice in a shtf event.... its short, powerful, easy to handle, respectfully accurate, great take down power, and light weight..... plus its got a nasty back up piece built in...... and nothing beats a bolt action in the lines of reliability
You changed my mind again. 91/30 for the win

If this was a law I dont think anything would be more practical for me than some sort of semi-auto 12 Ga. with smooth bore and rifled barrels, but say its a SHTF situation and I HAVE to leave my home and can only take 1 gun, it would have to be my AK-47 due to dependability and global availabilty of ammo.:smileak:

    870 with 3 barrels.
    1. 28" vent rib with choke tubes.
    2. Turkey barrel with Firesights.
    3. Fully rifled with glass.

It could hunt anything and be used for home defense

I'm very surprised that so few people are answering with handguns. If it could be annny gun, I'd get a Glock 18 so I could still carry concealed...if not that I'd take my current carry gun, the G27. I'd rather be armed all day with a Glock than have an assault rifle at home.
