Yesterday was my birthday, and yes turning 40 gets better year after year.My wife and children presented me with $1200. So i am now looking for a new addition to my collection. I'm a big Springfield fan so i already have the XDs and XD in .40 and .45, so i'm looking for something a little diffrent. Want to keep it around $1200 but no more then $1500. So if you were in my shoes, what would you buy?:ingo:

Well, since I ALREADY have my dream 1911 (S&W 1911sc bobtail), I would probably opted for the S&W 686 plus 3" Talo. :)

    If I had an extra $1,200... I'm thinking H&K 45c.

Edit: I just read that you don't own a 1911 yet. I think everyone should own atleast one 1911. You can find plenty Kimber 1911's in your price range.

like some already said you need to go with a 40 on your 40th and 45 on your 45th like I did :) but really buy something cheap because you'll need the cash for your copay @ the dr - all your $#@! starts falling apart @ 40 like it or not - don't resist it just happens

Let's see, with today's market for that you could get:
    3 boxes of 22LR or
    2 P-Mags or
    1 AR-15 lower
Personally I would get stock in an ammo company (best deal)

I'm thinking, since you're a Springfield fan, an EMP. the suggestion to put some of your own money with it and buy a M1A was pretty good, too. I've also read several suggestions to buy a Sig, and several 1911 suggestions. How bout a Sig 1911? That and a couple of mags oughta eat up your budget. I WOULD try to keep enough out for a good bottle of scotch, though. A fella really needs to be able to pour a couple of fingers over the rocks and just sit back and contemplate once in a while. Ahhhhh... ;)
