Awesome and healthy microwave popcorn at mere pennies per bag:

    Blog_2012_01_30_0443.jpg

Place 1/4-1/3 cup popping corn in a paper bag, fold down and staple (don't worry, the staple is fine) and microwave 2-3 minutes (play it by ear!!)

Btw, those who are having issues with quickly going from unpopped to burnt, use medium-high. You'll have a bigger window between "hot enough to pop" and "burnt".

I have yet to ever burn popcorn using this, it works great and is VERY fast, takes less than 1 minute to pop all of it.
I do use the paper bag trick to season it though, it's the least messy way to get a consistent coating.

Speaking of popcorn, the best microwave popcorn I have found is the Kroger brand movie theater butter. It's the first microwave popcorn I have found in a very long time that will actually all pop using the popcorn setting on the microwave.

Microwave popcorn? The best popcorn is made on the stove with BACON GREASE!

I eat a raw ear of corn, then I swallow fire. It pops perfectly inside my tummy. Then I eat salt, and drink small amounts of butter. I do it this way cause I'm part of the Ingo Lurker League, and we're mean sons of *****es!

That's what Mom & Dad always used. Works great but looked at it as "old fashioned".

Got one for the wifey for Christmas (don't laugh... she actually wanted one!) and it's been great. Plus, it's easy enough for the kids to do with little supervision.

I almost always ended up burning popcorn when using one of those for some reason - plus you *have* to use oil.

The air-popper lets me do it with dry kernels.

True. I like it better with the oil but I don't put any butter on it. Just salt.

I'm pretty sure my air popper can never be used for anything other than coffee now...although maybe it would make coffee flavored popcorn if I used it now!
