I'm just an ignorant savage, but its seems like they (the prosecutors) wanted to lose or at least didn't want to see justice served very badly.

There's the argument that has been made by others that since it was my neighborhood that is what they did.

I don't know if I would go that far. They hate me as I call them on their b.s. and just don't take the plea fee like others as I fight, but to intentionally lose a Murder is a bridge too far for me. I think they simply got cocky and did not get it framed right. It happens, we are human and all.

I know a couple of the Special Public Defenders that expressed shock at the attitude the cops had during the week of trial. I think the prosecution thought they could simply point to Printup ans say "HE did it" and that would be enough. I think that explains the complete lack of follow up investigation and the fact that kids look for lost dogs harder than the cops looked for the forensic evidence.

Redmon Murder draws challenger for Prosecuting Attorney: Facebook post announces McCoy's run for prosecutor.

Timing is everything. About 20 years ago in Washington County a huge drug case (hundreds of pounds of pot, pounds of cocaine, $100K in cash and 100 guns) got thrown out because of how the search warrant was obtained. It was within a week of the election, prosecutor became "former" prosecutor.

Edit: and here it is! http://caselaw.findlaw.com/in-court-of-appeals/1380870.html

You may want to mention all of the other options so that you cover yourself, but on the other hand you don't want to give them ideas either.

I want to take this opportunity to complain about my police tail (well, today could have been a PI) this weekend. Only 1 car followed me to I-65 Sunday when I left from Crown Point AND only 1 car followed me today.

No switch offs or parallels at all. It's like they aren't trying anymore.

You're gonna have to start switching cars 6 times to lose them. Like Pesci in Casino

I just wave at them and blow kisses. They know that I know that I am being followed. Doesn't really matter. I am not doing anything illegal but they will go to any lengths to get back at me after I blew the whistle on them.

I gave the PI my schedule for the next day a couple of weekends ago. Taped it on his window.

 FWIW... Some pics of the PI's car would be nice entertainment...

Someone have an extra GoPro to send Kirk? Inquiring minds want to know...

You could narrate and make it into a podcast for the podcasting thread.

This is getting to be some classic Cold War Spy vs Spy stuff. We need to rename Lafayette "Budapest East."

KGB, Stasi, et all vs Kirk's branch of MI6.

I hate the cloak and dagger stuff, but the more I talk about it the less likely I will get drugs planted in one of my cars or my office/house. I caught her red handed making the b.s. criminal allegations about me and instead of an apology from her and the County, I get all this cloak and dagger nonsense.

"It's a bold move, Cotton. Let's see how it works out for her."

Darius Printup continues crime spree after prosecutors let him walk in murder of my neighbor.

This b.s. better end May 8th!

My favorite line from the article:

Printup admitted he and a Lafayette associate of his drove to Chicago to purchase handguns, police said.

So contrary to the claims of Chicago politicians, Indiana criminals go to Chicago to buy their guns, not the other way around.
