My favorite line from the article:

So contrary to the claims of Chicago politicians, Indiana criminals go to Chicago to buy their guns, not the other way around.

Correct. Chicago is a bigger market with bigger supply of guns.

We do have gun running in Indiana (including out of the Lafayette gun show), but for those so tied in it is easier to run to Chicago and trade stolen property, cash or drugs for guns.

At least Kirk now has a police escort everywhere he goes. His block is probably much safer.

I imagine this is the b.s. that I will be told next week when the LPD brass return.

"No, we weren't sitting on your house, we are waiting for Printup to return to the neighborhood and this time when he does a Murder we'll get him!"

Ummm.

He was just turning his life around...

His criminal background:
• October 2016: Arrested for murder
• July 2017: Acquitted for murder
• September 2017: Violated parole
• November 2017: Arrested in Jasper County for carrying handgun without license, possession of controlled substance and marijuana
• December 2017: Possession of marijuana
• December 2017: Leaving scene of accident, false informing, learner's permit violation
• March 2018: Dealing synthetic drug, resisting law enforcement, carrying handgun without license, violating protective order
Printup had just gotten out of jail on those most recent charges, then was jailed again right after the shooting for making a false statement to police.

He probably thinks he is invincible in the eyes of the law since he got away with murder.
The "system" clearly isn't doing ANYTHING to dissuade him from that notion.

I'm curious how many people are dead due to his actions since he got away with murdering Kirk's neighbor. I'm guessing the number is greater than zero.

Given the way he probably thinks, what other conclusion is possible given his "success" rate? Our system and the people who mishandled the murder case have shown him that he's above the law.

I predict that he will end at the hands of a similar miscreant long before the legal system is able to curtail his actions.

I'd say that's a safe bet.

Either that or he'll finally turn his life around. :blahblah:

Just a few years ago his father got shot in the ass.

No doubt a similar fate awaits the scion.

Not comprehending TWO misdemeanor carrying w/o a license? I thought #2 was a felony? Surely with his “alleged” past, and dubious acquittal, SOMEONE could make a felony stick enough to get him a State sponsored timeout?
