International Space Station passes overhead...

I was able to watch it again tonight from west central Michigan. Clear sky and it was nice and bright.

When you see other odd things in the sky, it could be just junk from old satellites.

Space junk can impact other objects at over 22,300 mph, faster than a speeding bullet. Collisions with those tiny pieces often leave pits and dings in the many satellites, telescopes, and other objects orbiting our planet. In 2006, for example, a tiny piece of space junk collided with the International Space Station, taking a chip out of the heavily reinforced window.

It's as bright as a low flying plane, but doesn't blink. It basically looks like a really bright star moving across the sky, at about the speed you'd expect a plane to be traveling.

There are tons of free cell phone apps out there for Apple and android that show you exactly where to look in the sky and when.
