Pfleger said he has seen the rising tallies of shootings, and he’s hoping that neighborhoods get angry and put up a fight.

they have put up a fight, or do you not know about the few old people who have made the news for shooting intruders in their homes?

“I’m out here to protest against gun violence. It makes no sense,” he said. “You know they’re saying it’s the people that are squeezing the trigger, but at the same time without those manufacturers, there’s no guns to shoot.”

I find this part so phenomenally ignorant it just makes me cringe. How in the hell could someone be so stupid? Good thing he lives in Commicago...

"Protesters called for gun manufacturers to “title guns, just like cars.”"

Really? These people just get dumber and dumber

Rahm Emanual proposed the same thing a few months ago so it is something that is being discussed behind the scenes. They would charge to get the title, and then charge to transfer it if you sell the gun, meaning revenue for the city/state and another hurdle for legal gun owners.

    On this one,

It is actually a big difference at least in the language of use... We (Indiana) do not issue "permits", it is an LTCH (LICENSE to Carry Handgun). The state is not "PERMITTING" Us to carry, it is issuing a LICENSE to Carry. (after the appropriate checks of course..)
A distinction without a difference. And yes, they are permitting us, through official authorization, to carry our own handguns/sidearms on or about our person while off our property.
The colloquial, informal or slang term "permit" is not altogether inaccurate in this case, since they are both functionally identical.

    li·cense
       [lahy-suhns] noun, verb, -censed, -cens·ing.

    noun
    1.
formal permission from a governmental or other constituted authority to do something, as to carry on some business or profession.

    2.
a certificate, tag, plate, etc., giving proof of such permission; official permit: a driver's license.

    3.
permission to do or not to do something.

    4.
intentional deviation from rule, convention, or fact, as for the sake of literary or artistic effect: poetic license.

    5.
exceptional freedom allowed in a special situation.

    6.
excessive or undue freedom or liberty.

    7.
    licentiousness.

    8.
the legal right to use a patent owned by another.

    verb (used with object)
    9.
to grant authoritative permission or license to.

    (1, 2, 3, and 9 apply here.)

True, the official name for the authorization/permission slip here is license (to carry handgun). Whether one calls it a license, permit, Waffenbesitzkarte, Waffenträgerkarte or Ausweis by any other name, the function is the same. If you have to apply for permission, you do not have a right.

Second, Indiana is a SHALL Issue, not a MAY issue state. That basically means that if you pass the NCIC background check, get printed etc., The law enforcement agency MUST issue the license. It is not an Option to the whims of the local LEO...

And Indiana is also one of the few (only?) states that has a LIFETIME license, not one that has to be renewed every XX years... pretty sweeet...
While "shall issue" permission/authorization is - or sounds - better than "may issue" at the whim of a bureaucrat (- that is, after you've submitted for scrutiny all your personal info, fingerprints, and anything else statutorily mandated), and "ya only gotta do it once" is better than having to reapply and renew with attendant fees every 4 or 5 years, the damage to our right to bear arms is already done. Among many gun owners I've talked to in Indiana, this drawing of a distinction between the license - at least as it pertains to the bearing of handguns - and other "official" permits/authorization papers, coupled with the relative ease with which it can be obtained (that is, without too much relative inconvenience), makes it seem innocuous, as if they still had a right. That, and the fact the statutory infringement has been in place for several decades, or long enough to seem routine, causes a type of inertia and reluctance to see it for what it is, and get it repealed. People won't fight for a right they think they already have.

If you have to apply for permission, you do not have a right.

While they are at it, let's blame car makers for fatal DUI's. If they didn't make the car, people couldn't drive drunk!
It isn't just ignorance, but a culture/mindset that thrives on lack of responsibility. always someone else's fault.

Did anyone see anything in the "News" (if you can call it that...) about Jesse's million Ant march on Gun Shops?? I saw absolutely nothing about it.... did it even happen?
Jesse is a pandering, class warfare, racist, and I believe everyone else is finally getting to the point of realizing it...

A Non-March march.... gotta love it...

    Our Constitution ...

... enumerates God-Given rights, and is our Permit. No other land on earth has anything like it. A state's license is the state's attempt to control our rights.

    QUOTE from Article:
Hammond, 40, came to highlight the plight of the daughter of a Chicago Park District co-worker. Michelle Gregory, 21, was shot three times in the back and left for dead on a Maywood street in April. Gregory, described as a firecracker, always stood up for herself, but she had no one to protect her the night she was murdered, Hammond said.
    EndQuote:
It would seem that if she was always one to stand up for herself, she would have been in a different situation if the Chicago Guvment had not taken her right and ABILITY to defend herself... That is the fallacy of the whole argument.... Even if a cop had been a block away, they probably would not have changed the outcome... Only the victim, turned self defender has the ability to prevent just this kind of occurence as what happened to Ms. Gregory... They should have been marching on Rahm Emanuel and City Hall, not a gun shop... :xmad::xmad:

Really? Do they really believe it is the felon's and the criminals going into a gun shop, which automatically does a background check, as a source for their purposes? Stupid... just plain stupid... Its the Michelle Gregory's who should be the customers going into these shops, not some imaginary BG....

Perhaps if Jesse took the same approach to common thugs that he took to Obama, the problem would stop!
