Black Rat Snake...Over 7 feet judging by the width of my wife's little Celica....

I've owned the black, red and yellow versions of the rat snakes, but the photo seemed to show more pattern and some brown coloration that threw me off. The second photo in your linked thread makes it clear what the snake is. You're fortunate to have such a great rodent hunter in residence.
