I quit buying soda in cans. College son loves to open 2 or 3, walk away. Now in 1 or 2 litres requires a glass to drink. Now glasses lay around his dresser, by the nightstand.
Took a tub, filled with his dirty cups, set it on his bed. He sets tub on floor.

Now I scoop up his pillows, and blankets and advise his stuff is on sanction till he cleans up the cups, and socks laying askew on the floor.

"Mom, he's pickin on me!" he says. Wifey says "clean up, your Dad is going to remove your bed next!"
Cups and socks collected, cleaned, sanctions eased, bedding back. Hmmmm.....

My kids knew better than to pull the "Mom" card into play. She would defend them and intervene if she felt I was getting a bit to loud but to drive a wedge in the parental over lords.......nope. She did all the cooking.....:)
