    From the article...

"We will not accept any treaty that infringes on the constitutional rights of our citizens to bear arms," he said.

U.S. officials have acknowledged privately that the treaty under discussion would have no effect on domestic gun sales and ownership because it would apply only to exports.

I could missing something... but is this anything to be fearful of? :dunno:

It's kinda of worded like it will be a ban on OUR exports...

Is it also a ban on our IMPORTS?

    See above !

Do you think they are doing this so we cannot bypass a federal ammunition tax, which could effectively disable our guns, without taking away our guns?

Of course not........... I'm sure it never crossed their minds......... just don't worry about it.

First the UN treaty...then regulations and bans on guns, and ammo tax, then confiscation. We will become the criminals...if the government does not give it to us...we will not be allowed to have it. No socialist government wants their citizens to be armed. We will be Greece by 2016.

I like this treaty. It would eliminate all arms that gets into terrorists hands, I mean its not like these bad guys can find a way to illegally import or export arms.

Forget about imports and exports. This is the first logical step in taking away our 2nd Amendment. First they move to control the import/export, then decided to control gun sales on a local front. The dominoes are falling. Here's the kicker....this treaty wouldn't have to be backed by a Congressional vote. The President would be within his rights to use a rule called, Presidential Agreement. Scary.....

consider the source. It's the same bunch of lying, law breaking, posers, that are responsible for "fast & assinine", the 'dream act' (after telling la raza etc, that there are laws and the prez can't just do whatever), and telling everybody that since HBO had personally killed OBL and al queda, that it was an angry mob that killed the ambassador+3 others in benghazi over a video--"sorry mob".:xmad:
The hook with the UN treaty is that there are conditions set for us owning guns like registration (ie NFA classIII .22lr revolver) and no doubt we'll be required to show "good reason" for wanting to ANY firearm--but hey, who's INFRINGING on the 2A? Sleazy willie and diane feinstein etc will have THEIR guns!?

The only thing driving up gun/ammo prices are the suckers paying the prices asked. PT Barnum would love gun owners. Don't give in to fear mongering, let the overpriced crap sit on the shelves and the prices won't go up for long.

My cousin and I are going to buy some ammo tomorrow, but it is because we discussed last week buying a few boxes if there is something on sale.

    :+1:

The more people buy the more the prices will go up, just like in 2008.
Dont buy in fear and dont buy at high prices.

I'm talking about the stuff like an $800 AR priced at $1200 for no other reason than they want someone to pay the extra. Don't be "that guy". We all have to buy stuff. I have to go buy some .38 ammo so I can qualify with my 642 at work. You will know the BS pricing when you see it.
