    Drain it. fresh fuel and StaBil. Or your choice of fuel storage additive.

    Run it up with a good load on it and get the oil hot. Then put it away.

    If you convert your genny to LP, where-ever you find an unclaimed grill tank you have fuel to run your genny -- Gasoline not required... It's what I run mine on.

    I have several LP tanks but they are earmarked for other things. You do make a good point.
    Armed as we are (not firearms but solid foundation in being prepared) fuel can be easily obtained. I have all that is required to do this.
    I will say that propane is not subject to going "Stale" as fuel is or requiring a stabilizer to do such. It also burns cleaner. So plus plus.
