Dawn's early light came and the assault was on. Simon watched out through the scope on his rifle hunkered in the perimeter of the cabin. The flashbang preceded the doors being kicked in and immediately after were the sharp pop pop pop of weapons fire. They must have really caught the raiders unaware as there was little in the way of return fire. About thirty seconds into it, several people came screaming and running out the front door. They were especially inexperienced, or so totally overwhelmed with the assault on their friends, that one began firing wildly into the woods over the heads of Simon and his group lying in wait. Simon put a stop to this quickly with a single shot. Down went the shooter like a sack of wet sand.

Then all of a sudden the roar of an engine came alive, and two BGs in an old Ford truck roared out of the lean-to shed on the side of the house. Before they made it 100 feet, Jake McGuire of the MSG cut loose with his Barrett M82A1, loaded with 10 rounds of APIT 50 BMG. The truck careened off the drive and into a ravine, bursting into flames. One BG staggered out of the wreckage, only to be cut down by MSG fire. Two minutes of silence was followed by the three man assault team exiting the house. They were preceded by a prisoner walking out with his hands on the top of his head. Simon looked at him closely through his Leica binoculars...the prisoner was none other than Jack Boot the game cop!

When the sun was higher in the sky the MSG members had a chance to do a thorough search of the house, they found various small arms and ammo. Simon was reaching down to pick up a box on ammunition off the floor when he slipped on an empty shell and fell against the wall. The wall buckled and Simon saw the hidden door frame.

The door led to a basement that was poorly lit and had a narrow stair case. Two of the younger members of the group Evan and his brother Jon searched the basement for more supplies. Jon tripped over something on the floor. Hearing the commotion Evan turned to see his brother laying on a corpse.

Simon could barley identify the corpse as Tom Davis, the former owner of the home. Tom was a portly man and a very smart nurse in his day. Tom's body showed signs of being eaten.

After advising the group of his findings, Simon wanted to turn Jack Boot over to the authorities on murder and cannibalism.

Evan angrily asked "What authorities?" and walked over to Jack, still standing with his hands on his head, and kicked him down to his knees. Evan leveled his Glock 23 at the back of Jacks head and looked over at his brother.

Jon said "Look, Ev, this JBT deserves to die, for what he did to Mr. Davis. But do you think now is the time and place to summarily execute him for his crimes?" BOOM.

Three pages in and we are already shooting cannibalistic CO's? ( Jack Boot is his name, really?)Details folks... ease into it some with the details.

Who said he was shot? You are assuming...

Rather than critique, I suggest you join in and show us how it should be done i.e. lead by example.

Mike was late to the show, he had been sick and was shocked to find out the changes that had happened around him. It took his wife and son, three hours to tell him all the news.

His place was back in the woods and difficult to reach. The county had been slow to repair the only bridge to his place. With the recent rains, no one could cross the creek and his farm, family and few friends were basically on an island in the mild of the county. As long as the water level was high, no one would cross the stream to see what was on the other side.
