Didn’t much feel like firing up the forge today so I thought I’d try my hand at some more leather carving. Free hand drew the original then traced it out on cased leather, then it’s just a matter of using your imagination to make it complete.

Ha I don’t think we’re gonna go to crazy, this is just a good winter hobby when it’s to cold to be out making knives. I do have a belt I’m going to start making soon, might make some matching sheath belt combos or something like that.

Finally got back into the shop! Went for simple and basic, at least on the knife…

I hate to even post this because it is the function of it I really like. It has none of the absolute talent and beauty you guys post on here.
I made 2, 1 black, one tan. It allows a leg strap to be used with a Safariland holster setup. The strap can then pivot with leg movement.

My uncle was a tank driver in North Africa in WWII. What scale are they?

Kind of an off-based 1/40 scale maybe. Since they are caricatures of actual tanks, the scale is not all that relevant.

Spent some time forging last night and made a couple new things I've never tried before. The belt buckle is a test piece. I started out with 1/2 inch square bar and forged it down to about 1/4 inch round. This is in preparation for doing a rot iron belt buckle.



And here's my first horse head. Been wanting to try and I decided to make it a bottle opener to give to a buddy of mine I even put the letters of his real estate company letters on it for him.
