Well, he did get a bit of grief that may not have been called for, but he was not reasonable about deescalation either.

I mean cut a square/rectangle/fish or pig shape, sand and rout the edge. That is a big project.

Really though, folks, we need to realize that everyone else's fuse is just as short and frazzled as ours is.

I agree with you but he was still fairly green and likely not used to the atmosphere here yet. I'm not excusing his response.

Yep, but being new and pretty much walking into a room of people and throwing down is a bit less than smart. And when CM stepped in and put someone else in check, he just kept going. I'd say he had low situational awareness, then continued to act like a jerk and got clipped for it.
