I went to the court that Guy Relford argued against the city of Hammond about their "no guns" signs.
    I thought he won.
Then came the judges decision that, as long as they don't enforce it... and people should know the law, no matter the sign.

    I was stunned.

And yes, I agree, they have the money, when they want.

So a city has no responsibility to correctly represent the laws they threaten to enforce on you?
    .
"No Speeding or you will be shot!" Oh never mind, they never enforce that one!
    .
And people wonder why this generation does not respect the law, government or law enforcement? Judges like this one make it all too possible.

Judge rejects suit over right to carry firearms in Hammond

Judge Jeffery Dywan, in granting Hammond's motion to toss the suit, noted that the city's 1991 ordinances — adopted in response to a murder-suicide inside City Hall — had been automatically voided by a superseding state law that started in July.

Since that time, the city has not adopted any new ordinances in violation of state law regulating the carrying of firearms, Dywan wrote in his decision, nor has the city attempted to enforce its old, and now void, ordinance. As a result, the gun owners had no claim, Dywan said

And all this money was wasted in court because
Shortly before the lawsuit was filed, the Hammond City Council rejected an ordinance that would have harmonized the old city statutes with the new state law.
So, they were going to eliminate their laws that were against the State Preemption, but they didn't.

I'll bet that kind of logic would work great for roads and traffic regulations.

Ah! So the the judge got one last political whim in place before he left the building. Nice.
