With that being said I am curious. I can not remember the last time I watched a show on network TV. Probably the original Magnum PI.

There are some decent shows on network tv. One my wife, and I like even has Tom... Bluebloods. I like cop shows because I like watching bad guys get caught. Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, SVU, NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, SWAT, Chicago PD... There are some decent military type shows on too like Six, Seal Team, Taken. The Last Ship is good, but this will be it's last season. The Unit was good. I wish that had continued. I got it on DVD.

Remakes are most often disappointments. The Miami Vice movie may have been an exception, but Micheal Mann did both of them.

I loved the original. I'll give it a shot.

I loved the original in it's day. I tried to watch some reruns on it recently. I didn't make too far into the old shows.
The trailer for the new series looks to be pretty "up to date" with some throwbacks to the original show. It might be good for 3 or 4 episodes just to get a feel for the series.
The new Higgins looks very doable. Too bad she's not a redhead.

Watched the first episode last night. Not horrible, not spectacular....standard CBS fare. And apparently over at CBS, they have no need for new ideas.

Oh, and as to this:

Whoa. Did they take out all that stuff in post-production? Even the piping on the seams?

If they completely re-shot it, credit to TC for having the same expression!

I think it was digitally altered in post production. That or they have the most anal retentive continuity person in the business. The folds/wrinkles in the clothing are the same, the leaves on the plants are the same, everything looks exactly ​the same other than TC's uniform.

I watched it last night.
As I expected, it's a watchable show, but doesn't live up to the original.
