There are some decent shows on network tv. One my wife, and I like even has Tom... Bluebloods. I like cop shows because I like watching bad guys get caught. Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, SVU, NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, SWAT, Chicago PD... There are some decent military type shows on too like Six, Seal Team, Taken. The Last Ship is good, but this will be it's last season. The Unit was good. I wish that had continued. I got it on DVD.

I miss watching the “snake doctor” and I have the Unit ringtone on my iphone

Well, it was watchable. Even though they were kit cars, I really hated seeing those 'Ferrari's get totalled.
I'll watch it next week just to see the new Higgins again!:):

Hey, maybe he was a REALLY good pilot so they bumped him up.

    TOLD YA!!! :)

I wasn’t in the Marines so I’m not familiar with their uniforms but when I looked at TC’s sleeve on his dress blues I didn’t see any hash marks for years in service. I thought there was a minimum enlistment time longer than two years (?) I didn’t record the show but doubt I would have checked to see even if I had.

Also, I assume the Marine equivalent of the Army would indicate a helicopter would at least be a Warrant Officer (?)

Lastly, based on Magnum’s uniform he was apparently a S.E.A.L. which I think is another departure from the original (?) Not saying that’s bad, just different

If you were a fan of the original then no, nothing will live up.

Higgens was not a female for starters.

    True.
And it's not a bad show in it's own right.
    I'm sure I'll watch it.

But even if Higgins was cast as a man in the new one, it would be hard to match the onscreen chemistry of Tom Selleck and John Hillerman playing Magnum and Higgins.
Those guys crack me up. ;)
I've seen the re-runs more times than I can count, and it's like the 3 Stooges, I KNOW what's going to happen and I still laugh my *ss off.

Then you throw in the guys who played TC and Rick.
Again the onscreen chemistry will be hard to match.

The new guy playing Magnum seems to take himself more seriously than the original.
One thing I remember when Belisario was casting the original Magnum, it was important to him to get an actor that could laugh at himself and not take himself too seriously.
That's why he said he chose Tom Selleck.

THE original Magnum, PI is one of the BEST TV shows ever produced.
So will be hard to match with ANY re-make in my mind.
