The police and prosecutors probably haven't made too many mistakes here, but the illiterate thumbsuckers that reported it are just too incompetent to portray even a credible semblance of the story, being so fundamentally disconnected from the most basic knowledge necessary to understand it that they may as well be trying to translate poetry from one language to another using the google translator.

While I dislike Gannet, take it easy there. I've worked as a journalist quite a bit and it's easy to make mistakes, particularly on topics you're not terribly familiar with. And while the Star's reporters aren't exactly Woodward and Bernstein, cut them a little slack.

Does it matter who's house it is?

Also, the article mentions a "house full of weapons".

Calling a pistol, a shotgun and 5 knives a "house full of weapons" is setting the bar pretty low.

I think you mean an AK47 rifle, an hand AK47 and several AK47 style assault knives. A house full of assault weapons. Thats what the news meant i am sure , lol

I think any time you start acting crazy and shooting inside a house and the neighbors call, you're going to get any charge they can think of put on the books. What a jerk. Even if two adults are having problems, shooting up the house with kids in it should get you tied to a whipping post.

If thats a house full of weapons then what is my house? A arsenal to supply a army?

The problem with the Star is that too often their "crime reporting" consists of something they picked up off a police scanner I think. Tuohy is particularly "detail-challenged" in his articles. He'll often describe something like what the suspect was eating at the time, right down to the golden brown color of the french fries, but not provide a description of the suspect.

Heck, I have almost that much on me when I go hunting. :D

The big one may not be a machete, but it is a 10 in. Bowie

I take a machete with me deer hunting. Thorn bushes grow up around the base of my favorite tree every spring and I need to cut them back to set up my stand.
