Too bad. Sorry to see the artificial market for these things driving company investment like this. Our electrical grid isn't ready for these and won't be any time soon. Feds have no plan to make it ready, despite what they say. We need the government to get their thumb off the scale and let the market determine if EV's are wanted.

If you’re an employee of that plant, this is good news. If you’re being included in the new product plans of the company, it‘s better than the alternative. Sadly though, GM is neck-deep in the ESG movement. My thoughts on the EV craze have already been stated, probably a couple times now. EVs get you points on your ESG score if you’re an auto manufacturer.

Many sheeple think that the billionaire space race is fun and games of those with too much money. Nope! They are racing to space to get raw materials and become the first trillionaire…

Some of the monster old stamping presses are being replaced with these upgrades.
Lots of empty space in that plant, its a shell of what it once was.
They just took one out ..impressive equipment to pick up and carts to move it out. Huge excavator with a shear on it to cut the metal. The plans of more coming out and major changes with new presses for aluminum and also with lines added/expanding. 4 new smart cranes for the dies moving.
They are adding the square footage for production and support of production not building on to the plant.

Yep. She took some videos of some of the work. I'll have to watch them.
I got to walk most of that plant a few weeks ago with family day. Lots of changes since I worked on some of the escalators 20 years ago.
