    Hi-Point ... check
Carried inside the waistband ... check
    No holster ... check
    No LTCH ... check

    Seems about right.

Almost, but not completely right yet . . .

Two prior felony convictions for narcotics dealing ... CHECK!

He'll definitely be spending time in a penile institution. Sorry I'm late to the party, but didn't see this interesting tidbit posted anywhere in the thread. Read down to the last sentence here:

Gonna be some questions about how he acquired it. Serial number will get to the retailer's records and find out who first bought it. That could be interesting if it wasn't stolen from or sold by first buyer.

His first mistake was carrying a HI-POINT! Second mistake was no secured holster, i could go on but I'll stop there. As I've said before, and as happened to me after over 50 yrs. of involvement with handguns. COMPLACENCY is the biggest cause of accidental discharge of a gun. everyone should continually revue their personal gun safety rules. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN UNLOADED GUN!!

YES THERE IS... But this has nothing to do with a gun should be handled.

Bear in mind the mindset of most journalism majors, that wasn't an accident. Or they are quoting him and no self respecting hoodlum is going to say "I reached down and bumped the trigger"

A more accurate quote would likely have been "I was standing near the girl scout cabin, and reached down to grab my gun, but got the trigger instead."

So I suppose this would be the moral of the story:
One should not adjust their gun in their pants standing next to a girl scout cabin lest it inadvertently discharge.
