I don’t believe Trump’s motivation to run for POTUS was to curry favor with the Russians for his own self interest.

I don't believe that was solely his purpose for running either. However, I most certainly do not think his motivations for running was a sincere concern for the health of the United States, and wishing to implement the values of his party.

I can’t believe it did you know that President Trump had plans to build a Trump tower in Moscow as far back as 1987?
One of the guests on CNN tried to piece together the theory that President Tump has worked with the Russians since 1987.
This plan was DJT become President of the USA in order to build a tower in Moscow this project would make big money for President Tump.
So the “red scare” is within and President Tump is a closeted Russian sympathizer who acts as a puppet of Moscow.

So the Russians want a USA that has low unemployment, strong oil exports, modernizing military, expanding industries, Borders ect.
I am not a expert but it seems the Russians would want the opposite especially the oil exports?

There have been so many changes, politically in Russia, that the idea that their goals have remained consistent from 1987 to now seems odd. Not to say that remnants of the KGB (or intelligence services), haven't independently kept him on the hook. I personally wouldn't put much stock in it.

I’m with kut here. I’m not buying that theory.

Why would there be a need for Trump to become POTUS in order to build a Tower in Moscow?

The fact remains that DJT was a world wide businessman before he was the president I am sure he had strategic plans for expansion all over the world. The MSM is blowing the Russian angle out of the water he is a businessman before politics.
I expect him to attempt to make money wherever and whenever he can. The “special counsel” is in overtime it has lost its effectiveness every day is the day “new evidence” that’s gonna put the President and his entire family in prison.

The “new” house will start more investigations and such all the while our country is in deadlock.
So do we have a possible solution ?

The House elections in 2020. Dem overreach coupled with Trump at the head of the ticket and still not a lot of Republican seats really at risk in the Senate

Achieve control of all three branches again, Republicans more aligned with Trump then ever. Hold a tasteful memorial service for self-styled Real Republicans® and other lumbarless RINOs and then unabashedly use the power to clean house at FBI, CIA, DoJ etc etc etc

And make the trains run on time, of course

I partly agree with this ^^^.

The democrats are in a real quandary here. If they follow their progressive, vocal activist Trump haters they will impeach Trump within the next two (2) years, which will be a complete waste of time as the republican controlled Senate will not convict. It will all be a waste of time, the moderates will see them as ineffective, and they enter the 2020 elections weakened.

OR (the alternative), they follow Pelosi who does NOT want to impeach Trump now because the democrats have power (ie. control of the house) and it will reflect bad upon them if they screw things up. This is much like the republicans ALL screaming while they had no power to override a presidential veto to repeal the ACA, but once they controlled everything they didn't do squat. However, if they follow Pelosi's "do not impeach" path they will heartily enrage a good section of their base, that will either then primary them or weaken them in the general election.

Either way, they are between the devil and the deep blue sea.

I see 2020 being very bright for the republicans as long as the economy stays good AND no massive smoking gun is found by Mueller.

    Regards,

    Doug

This is the 2020 map of Senate seats up for election, it doesn't look bad at all. Re-elect Trump and retake the House and we can go places and do things

Of course, we need to get a handle on the blatant vote fraud like in FL, GA and NC also (Cue Kut with some bull**** pronouncement about how there is no evidence of vote fraud while ignoring that there is no evidence of collusion, but apparently the manufactured appearance of such is enough if a Republican is the target)

I've read a bit about the Cohen sentencing recommendations from SP Mueller, and here's my take:

Cohen rolled over and spilled everything that he knew. But, the only implication is that Trump knew about and supplied the pornstar pay-off. And, that from Trump's public denials of that, Cohen took it that he should lie to congress in his testimony on the subject.

And, that Cohen was attempting to establish contacts to start Moscow Trump Tower negotiations that got nowhere. One of several people attempting different avenues for such a potential "deal". Appears that Don Jr.'s testimony jibes with this. One approach via a different avenue dies off in 2014-2015, Cohen's in 2016. There wasn't "a" Moscow deal being pursued, but more than one person other than Cohen attempting to be a match-maker.

A big nuthin' burger, Trump-wise, hence the harsh sentencing recommendation.

Am I missing something? Is there more "there" there? Cohen wouldn't be treated this way if he was to be the star witness (or even play a supporting role) in bringing down Trump, IMO.

My take is Cohen's "cooperation" did'nt get him bupkis. He even changed his party affiliation to Democrat. He's a fool.

I heard Dershowitz talking about that yesterday. He said this should be a warning to anyone thinking of cooperating with a Prosecutor. You might turn on everyone and give full cooperation then get screwed over in the end anyway.
