That isn't how I interpret that. More like being afraid of giving the Ds another last minute topic of outrage. Can't have a NRA speaker in proximity to where someone was shot.

The only other inanimate object I can think of that might elicit the same reaction is if someone from Jack Daniels or Anheiser Busch were scheduled to speak and a bunch of kids were killed by a drunk driver. There are traditions in college sports that were once associated with alcohol that have either been eliminated or renamed.

I predict Republicans hold the majority in the house and Senate and I'm gonna predict they add at least 4 seats in the senate.

Wife and I just got back. CCed as usual. My polling place is a church and to the best of my knowledge, no school or day care of any kind. No signs posted of that sort.
