Some of the takedown rifles were also referred to as bicycle rifles, because they could be broken down and carried on a bicycle.

Yes sir...Stevens led the way there...

Really neat rifle! Love those old buggy rifles! My dad wanted to make an underhammer flint rifle, years ago. Going to have to stop by your shop and bug you sometime...

Very nice Handi-rifle. Have a lightweight one in 223. Looking for another one in 357, along with a 12 gauge Topper.

Saw this photo of a group out on their buggies.. Now those hammocks are called buggy hammocks and the one lad in the middle has a buggy gun..
Now the lad at the end has a real rifle but that is another tale.

So this photo has been bugging me, What is the rifle that the front row dude was holding.. Spent a couple fruitless days looking, still nothing.. So in a passing comment by Doggydaddy I told him about my search. He said let me get you in touch with my friend Brian, One of the foremost takedown/buggy rifle experts in the country. So in talking to Brian, I started describing the gun over the phone.. and after about 10 words he interrupts "It a 22 Quackenbush .. Want to shoot one"

So meet DD & Brian at the range and he brought one along to shoot... Wonderful gun with a wonderful story..
