Good thing she lives far far away. Cute but psycho has always been a weakness of mine. I married a couple like that...

Doesn't "________ but psycho" apply to all women? Like "________ but retarded" applies to all men?

Yeah but when they come with a warning label, it's probably weapons-grade psycho. I have a vision of a future video where "Emelie cooks her wilderness survival companion". I mean, why is she so interested in starting a fire, right?

She was awful dang cute tho. :D

Nice collection! Which do you use the most?

For me, it's my old Frosts-branded Companion in OD green that I got from Sportsman's Guide a long time ago.

I've decided to finally follow-through on replacing crappy paring knives in the kitchen with stainless Moraknivs.

Thanks Rhino. I probably use the second one from the left most. I own some VERY hilly property in another state and I like the extra long scabbard/sheath to protect myself should I fall and also keep the knife from getting lost.

I have some Mora knock offs around here somewhere. They are ok but honestly its hard to justify a knock off when most Mora's are under 15 bucks.

Indeed! Unless you get a knock off of similar quality, what's the point?

My Companion no longer has positive retention after many times in and out of the scabbard. I put a couple of layers of Gorilla Tape inside the mouth of the sheath which helps quite a bit, but now I also used a loop of 1/8 inch shock cord on all of my Moraknivs for additional retention. It passes through the belt loop/clip, then around the top of the handle. It's quick and easy to slip it off when I need the knife.

Well, you got me thinking about the Chinese knock offs. I use to be heavily into prepping and I put a bunch of these knives away as barter/hand out knives. They were very reasonably priced if I recall correctly.

The ones with the blue handles have Wahoo Killer on the blade and the green ones say Delta Defender.

The shock cords for retention is an excellent idea. Could you post a picture of one with the cord in place?

I'll try to get someone with a decent camera/phone to take a pic as soon as I can.

I've got a Light My Fire Mora in each of our vehicles along with couple others we use around the house. IIRC we have a couple 511s, a Companion or 2, and a Fillet knife I use in the kitchen. Also got an old one that belonged to my Grandpa, marked Broderna Jonsson, Mora Sweden. The sheath is plastic with a leather belt loop held on with a metal clip.
Between the Moras and my puukkos I guess you could say I've got a thing for Nordic steel. :):

I've always liked the looks of Scandanavian knives. I remember ads in the back of Popular Science back in the 1980s (long before they turned socialist-statist) for puukos. I wanted one, but never had the money.

Rhino, you just summed up the first 40 years of my life.
