I feel the standard 91/30 is plenty accurate for most. I have read and heard stories of tremendous accuracy with standard 91/30. I wouldn't (& didn't) pay more for the sniper version. just my :twocents:

They're a crap shoot. AFAIK, the rifles used for the clones are not selected for accuracy, so so if thatis the case, it would be the chance of getting one with a sewer pipe bore. If you're interested in a sniper, there are real ones out there for about double what a fake goes for.

For $800 get yourself a REAL Mosin sniper.
    RGUNS - Bolt Action Rifles
This is where I bought mine. They are the only game in town for one.

That looks really cool, but what constitutes the large price difference? I'm not saying it's not worth it, as I love my Mosin M38. It's just 10x more than the mil surp ones and I'm wondering the difference besides the bent bolt handle and the scope...

    Thanks,

just the scope alone is likely over half the cost....Ive seen original PU scopes run over $400.

It is cool but I just couldnt justify 800 bucks for a Mosin, and I love Mosin's. 800 bucks would get you into a Dragunov Sniper. From what I understand the only thing that made a mosin a snipe was it shot a little better than the others that were produced and got a bent handle.

If you want to see just how accurate a standard 91/30 can be. Go to U-tube and search "Best Shot Ever" A guy takes down a feral Hog with one shot, iron sights, from the back of a pick up truck at 350yrds. :ar15:

Rarity is a factor. Genuine snipers are quite rare imports. Actual snipers were rifles chosen for accuracy at the factory and built into snipers. Soviet snipers racked up a huge number of kills during the war so these have a special place in history.

buy a normal mosin and send handle off and have a pro bend & polish for around $50.00.for the scope you can find a better one for ca.$120.00 total cost $350.00. add another $159.00 an get tactical stock from ATI and you still have about $300.00 for a lot of add on to make it sweet and a modern day sniper.

When I can keep steady, I can shoot my 91/30 pretty accurately at 100 yds+ dead bull. This was with out any adjustments.
