I had a 46B find me years ago.
It showed up on my doorstep with a sad story about needing cash.
I gave $50 for the rifle with one 7 round mag, wearing a Bushnell Banner 3x9x40 and a very nice padded leather thumbhole sling.

I have since removed the scope, but still have it, and reinstalled the original style Mossberg peep sights.
It is a tack-driver, and will never be sold by me.

    You sure it's a 46B Mgderf? My 46B has a tube mag.

    Not quite.
That looks like it too, but I just checked.
Mine is actually a model 144.

Yep, too many variations to keep track of.
That makes sense. I think the "44" series of rifles were all mag-fed, while the "46" series were tube fed. I've been searching Gunbroker for "Mossberg .22 rifles" and holy cow, there are a lot out there.

Thank you for that! I've bookmarked it. Will definitely come in handy.

So if one ever wins the lottery, and I mean wins it big. Figure you can get like a full line of Belt & strip fed crew served weapons or say 1/2 the line of Mossberg rifles variations.

Just won this on Gunbroker last night. Seller is from Noblesville, and he's agreed to a FTF deal (saves me 30 bucks shipping), so hopefully I'll be picking it up today or tomorrow. It's a Mossberg 151M-C. They were made from 1954 - 1958.

    I love those Mossys.
You'd better keep Doggy Mama happy or you'll have to buy a new safe with a bed in it.

It's really tough to find those swivels, too!

Way to go, I was trying to leave DD with something and you point out the swivels are gone also..

Don't worry about the swivel rings DD, I bet you can fashion a couple out of a nice coat hanger in nothing flat..

They're missing on both my latest rifles. Trouble is, I don't have any wire coat hangers.

I don't know about that Brownie. The trigger looks pretty atrocious. I do like the look of that Stevens Off-hand pistol though. Also from your article, I never knew the connection between Stevens and O.F. Mossberg. That was interesting! Oh, and the article is no longer correct about the Brownie being their only pistol anymore. They just started making this one fairly recently...

I think that atrocious trigger was intended as a safety feature, like those palm squeeze pocket pistols..

Per Mossbergs connection to Stevens, forget not Iver Johnson. So many of those early gun makers are near insestious in there relationships. Look at the Smith&Wesson-Volcanic-Henry-Winchester connections. Or Colt & Whitney.. and that's just the big fish we lose track of those designers and engineers that go back & forth.

Are you sure Mossberg made that pistol.. I do not see an ejector rod.. :)
