Have both Remington and a Mossy...I just decided when I am trying to be quiet ie deer hunting the Remington is my choice. When I am trying to spray lots of life removing lead they both work well! Never had a problem with either and I've shot them both alot.
I have two Mossberg 500s, one a 5 shot and the other an 8. I have shot them hundreds of times with 2 3/4 inch bird shot to 3 inch double 00 magnums. Never have I had any trouble with either of them misfiring or jamming or failing to function. I have never tried to wrap them around a tree or tossed them in the mud to see how well they functioned after doing anything like that, however. I personally like the pistol grip buttstock even with the location of the safety at the back top of the receiver. A wobble is present in both, but also in my Winchester 12 gauge to a lesser degree. It has never been a problem.
