I'm thinking about riding the motorcycle. I'm a little nervous about that, but it looks like a nice cross country ride.

In an attempt to increase local participation I am posting a summary of the April meeting. This is a typical meeting, lots of visiting and mutual support. stop by and visit awhile. :welcome:

    INGO MSG 3 April minutes:

April 2015 INGO Bloomington Meeting: Started at 6:15 pm 10 members attended and 3 were ladies. One was a first time visitor.
Good food was had by all at the Trailhead Pizza restaurant on 446, 4 miles south of Bloomington.

One lady brought organic garden seeds to share: Acorn squash, pie pumpkins, muskmelons and gourds.

There were numerous lively conversations with some of the topics being:

Gardening- what to plant now, buying a back hoe and all the work you can do with it, the new TWAW “The Well-armed Women” group and the new range being built about 3 miles south of McCormick’s creek state park in Owen co.
Ammo prices, current hunting laws, (a few deer and rabbit hunting tales) the disease of “Rabbit fever” that wild rabbits get in the summer. Crane’s 350 job openings, black powder prices and reloading pistol rounds,
Motor cycle leather bags, a used car one member has for sale, AR 15’s for hunting deer: pros and cons,
How an owl decoy can distract crows from the garden and for shooting said crows while they look at the decoy.
How dog laws have changed and now you may no longer shoot a dog on your property, pros and cons. Feral and domestic house cats and how they affect wild bird populations.
The water crisis in California, the produce prices are rising, and how to grow your own vegetables at home in a container garden. One member interns as a home garden and fruit specialist and offered to give the group training if we are interested.

Many private discussions of personal lives, jobs and family’s also occurred. Jokes and silly talk abounded.

There was mention of moving the meeting to another site as this site has no coffee, tea, or deserts, tonight they had no ice for most the time we were there.
It was mentioned that the Villager in Ellettsville or some restaurant on or near Hwy 37 could be a proposed site. Finding a quiet place with large tables, soft seats, good variety of foods and costs, with free parking seem to be concerns most mentioned. Nothing was decided so we will meet the First Wednesday of May at Trailhead on 446.

The meeting ended about 9:15 pm as most have to get up for work. A good visit was had by all.

MSG = Mutual Support Group. Basically a bunch of INGO'ers that get together once a month to talk and visit with each other. We break bread and form real life friendships with each other. See a few posts above for the minutes of last months meeting. We talk about training and gardening and everything in between.

Stop by for a visit at the least you will eat some pizza.

Cold Steel thanks for the response. My wife and I are both just getting into this type of preparing. We both would really like to attend a meeting, unfortunately, I get up before 4 in the morning to go to work. I wish that the meetings were more in line with my time issues. Since it's not then I will make arrangements to have the following day off. I won't make this meeting but don't be surprised that I am there for the next. Glad you folks exist!!!

If you left the meeting at 7:30 or 8:00 you would still have over 6 hours of sleepey time. ;)

You folks are welcome. Keep an eye on the location as it might change again.
The calzones are good at the current location, but one can only hang so long to a place without dessert or coffee.
