I use to subscribe usually. I use a period when I want to "delete" a post. I use two periods when I reply to single periods.

I don't subscribe to threads, so dunno. I just click the "new posts" and sort through what I'm interested in that way.

Or, sometimes someone posts something and then decides better of it. You can't blank out a post when editing; it has to have something. So a period works.

It’s the easiest way to get back to where you were at before opening the thread.

Information officer at press release said threats were sent to the paper via social media.

Shooter is in late 30's.

The suspect had a "vendetta" against the paper and made threats on social media, county police said in a briefing Thursay night. Police declined to name him.
