The bench trial today was a Pyrrhic victory of sorts. The other party didn’t get the $6000 they wanted, but I have to pay them half of their first vet bill...$330.

I will accept the judge’s decision with good cheer and move on with my life, because that’s what adults do.

Thanks for all the support. It has meant a lot.

More later as I have the time...

Yes. Walter was in his own yard and his neighbor's dog attacked him.
He should not have provoked the dog :n00b:...................wow makes me glad I didn't pull the trigger on the dog that was stalking me.

On the other hand, I tracked down the owner told them the "issues" with their dog and what would happen next. Two months later it stalked (there were witnesses), attacked and shredded the 5 year old kid 2 doors down. My Daughter was 6 at the time.

OP probably saved someone's butt by doing this. Cheers to the OP, if he is happy, so be it. Sometimes a win is cutting a check for 5% of what they wanted, BTDT and laughed my ass off doing it.

That sucks that you had to pay even a small amount, but at least its behind you now. Maybe next time you empty the magazine so there cant be a vet bill..... probably a bad idea. :ar15:

Yeah, I hear disposal of a carcass is cheaper than a vet bill for a GSW.

Although I doubt it would take an entire mag. I'm guessing 2-3 decently placed shots or 1-2 WELL placed shots.

As soon as I get the time, I'll publish the entire clammy tale at my blog site thingy.

In a nutshell though, apparently, society today doesn't care for do-it-your-selfers like me to take care of business on my own. ;)

Franklin Township. The judge's last name is Kitley...and he's up for re-election! :D

Re-Elect John Kitley Jr for Franklin Township Judge

And yes, I "provoked" the dog(s)...two Rottweilers...by leaving the safety of my own home and going outdoors armed on my property instead of calling BGPD.

There's a lot more to the story, as Frank can attest to, but this is the reason I had to pay half of the other party's vet bill.
