OP, I like the "look ," but it seems a little bright. Was the camo meant to be functional, or just pleasing to the eye?
I've have tried to acknowledge Kut both times we've agreed. :)

OP, your paint job is top notch, just not my color.
I can't show you my paint job, because I don't have the balls to attempt it. :yesway:

Looks good OP, nice job. Here is the one I did last year, I think it turned out well. I know it took me a while to work up to actually painting one, but turned out to be a bit easier than I originally thought. Its all in the prep work.

Thanks! It took a lot of working up to making myself try and camo one of these rifles. It turned out a bit better than I thought it would. now it sports a bit of a worn look to it since I've used it for Run-N-Gun a bit. I think it looks better now than it did when it was newly painted.

These are some sweet looking pieces of art. I did this to a shotgun but can't remember the kind of paint I used

After decades of building model airplanes the idea of doing a camo job on a plastic rifle is... strangely alluring.
Might have to crazy quilt pattern one to go with my jacket.

As long as you don't whether the panel lines and add exhaust streaks ;)

I don't have the ball to paint mine, I think I would leave it black. It would be harder to see in the dark that I am holding an AR.

I degresed my 700's tupperware stock and then flat blacked it.
Let that sit a couple of days and then tore blue masking tape to layer into stripes.
Shot the whole thing OD green and then highlighted at stripe locations with tan.
Cheap, fast and looks halfway decent.
Finished off with 3 or 4 coats of matte clear.

Secret is to not put stripes too close together or too small. Also in any paint job, when it looks good enough.........stop.

Most times additional attempts at fixing or helping the job, ruins it.

What the guy did turned out great, and had multiple steps, but IMHO no art degree needed.
    Simple stuff, just more steps.
Pay attention to the spacing he uses.
In the base layers, and then the brush painted stuff.
    That is the key.

Make a cardboard cutout of your gun and do a practice run, to completion, and see what you did wrong.

Should have comparable results on the 2nd run, on the real rig.

    :)

I have done more intricate patterns. They look nice, take more effort..........and don't work any better.
Knock off the shine, break up the outline.........all camo needs to do.

Only works if the hunter stays in the shadows, doesn't move when he shouldn't.

Anymore camo is a fashion statement.

My main turkey gun is just flat black :)
