    As someone else mentioned, there's petroleum in much more than just gun cleaning solvents. I have lots of allergies, including a pretty serious one to chlorine that closes my airway. Allergy medicine is your friend for the tamer stuff and if you're really concerned, get an epi-pen as a "just in case" for the stronger reaction.
