My new carry gun finally arrived

Some assembly required.

I oreded this almost 2 months ago but hurricane Irene put Binghamton NY in a state of emergency just after I ordered this kit which is where Fusion Firearms is located and pretty much put them to a halt, but it finally showed today.
I am stoked!!!

Fusion 1911 Commander, comes with 2 barrels a 40 cal and 357 sig. Before the purists chime in I own 1 or 2 1911's in 45 and wanted something different.

In the parts bag is a Bobtail MSH and also I had Fusion do a "Press Check" cut on the slide.
I was going to do it myself but since I bought the kit and parts he gave me too good of a deal not to have them just do it.

Sooo, I know what I am doing this weekend I may not finish it but I will be real close if not.

I bought the parts separately but the kit includes the 2 barrels and bushings, recoil springs, slide stop, staked plunger tube, sight dovetails cut and slide, frame and both barrels fit and the slide press check cut.
It was just under $1200.00

I got a ar build done about a year ago and ever since wanted to do a 1911 build it is just something about building it your self and not just buying it right out a case.

That is awesome Allen, I remember you showing me a 1911 that you had done the bobtail on yourself a few years ago. Based on that I am sure this will come out looking great..

about 50 / 50 everything needs some attention it seems.

Here is 4 hour worth of work.

Things done:
MSH hole relocated and Bobtail cut
Trigger fitted
Hammer and sear mated although it took very little this time
Thumb Safety fitted
Beavertail safety fitted
firing pin stop plate fitted (Yes it had to be fitted)
Sights fitted and installed

Seems to have went quick but I did do quite a bit of filing and deburring

It passes the safety and function checks. I think I will put a cheap set of grips on it while I wait on some VZ grips and take it out and put a couple hundred rounds through each barrel and work out any bugs before painting it.
