Keeps stinky solvents from getting all over. Perfect for when using a spray can of solvent. Outer threads are 13/16-16 for most oil filters including the Chevy 350 filter. The one shown is a Napa 37202.

I notice they don't show the oil filter screwed on the adapter while it is on the firearm.

Its not an NFA item until you put an oil filter on it, get it engraved and do the paperwork.

Im tempted to buy one, but despite what I just said, it kind of scares me.

Edit: Note that it doesnt thread onto the end of the barrel, I doubt it would stay put.

They have a set screw.

Unsure if the threads are the same, but this looks like a threaded adapter to attach a suppressor, not necessarily an oil can "suppressor". I don't know much about thread pitch for them.

what he said.. Their are all kinds of adapters on the net to fit both threaded barrels, and non-threaded barrels. It's not a NFA (tax stamp) item until you put a (working) suppressor on it. I say "working" cause there are 100's of web sight that sale fake suppressors to make your gun look cool, but don't do a darn thing. All legal..

That adapter is no more illegal than a threaded barrel. If the purchaser actually goes through with threading a filter on and shooting then yeah.

That is nothing more than a thread converter so you can put on a flash hider. Otherwise the squirrels will see your position and flank you.
