Murphy's Law due to prepping for snow for cinched that event. The weather report was like one big tease.

Getting ready to leave the house for a high school fencing tournament.

I'm going to help as many kids as I can, but I was requested to be a strip coach (the coach at the side of the fencing strip who give advice to a fencer during break periods) for a 16 year old Russian foreign exchange student. She won gold last week with me at her side the entire tournament. I argued with her during the break on her toughest bout, she listened to me and won. I knew the other fencer and that fencer's style. My girl wanted to change her tactics, I convinced her not to do that.

This week she may win gold again? Today's tournament is a bit larger, but the same top competitors will attend. We already know who the toughest competitors will be and one of them can just as easily knock my girl off the podium. The girl I am coaching got her formal training in Russia. I've been working with her since this summer and have arranged for some very specific high level lessons for her as well. She could go onto the Russian national team and the Olympics if she continues her path. She may be that good.
