That's a sweet carbine, sucks how they used to be a dime a dozen. Speaking of carbines, do you have any experience with one in 5.7 Johnson? I saw one a while back reminds me an awful lot of the new 5.7x28.

I thought you would never ask! Below is all stuff for converting Mosins. The first 2 pictures are of the same rifle with the scope mount I made that can be mounted as a regular scope mount or a scout mount. The five Mosins pictured don't look exactly the same now, they are all a work in progress as I come up with new ideas. Flash hiders, bolt handles and steel scope mounts now have a black oxide finish.

It would all depend on how much work is involved. I have purchased Mosins, drilled and tapped the receivers for an ATI scope mount, did the bolt handle job and inletted clearance in the stock for the new bolt handle and sold them for $160.
The biggest draw back is the fact that I am 160 miles from Indy.

So what all is involved in doing a complete pistol dehorn and shine job? I have a GP100 that would look great like that.

    Mostly time. ;)

The process involves 400, 600 and 1500 grit sandpaper and a lots of hours watching TV while smoothing edges, removing the factory brush marks, and maintaining the original contours of the barrel while sanding down the warning label roll-marks.

Once the entire pistol is smoothed with successively finer sandpaper, you then have to use Mother's Mag and Aluminium polish with a fine knit cloth and polish the entire pistol until it shines like a mirror.

Although the finish gets the most comments, the trigger is what makes this pistol amazing. The sub 2.5lb trigger pull in SA surprises most people who have fired it... It is very sweet!

I had an extra Mosin stock laying around and I decided to customize it this weekend. The barreled receiver I did awhile back and had it in a ATI stock. I figured it was time to give it a new home. I decided no handguard this time. 16 1/2" barrel

Not too much louder than a regular 91/30....but a nice fireball.
I haven't fired it in this configuration yet, but I did take it out a couple of times this year when it was in the ATI stock. This target was at 25yds...I didn't have time to adjust the front sight. It has a Marbles sight ramp and a Williams front sight.
